thank you! I'd attempted it with CleanMyMac, but I didn't have the option to do so. (Safari wouldn't appear in the list of apps I could delete or clean.)

Minimalist works standalone. my main problem has to do with Safari not working well with Cold Turkey Blocker Pro, though I have contacted the developer and says that the next release might have a fix. but that hasn't come out yet and I don't know when it will.

and, oh, yes, I will try uninstalling the Safari CTBP plugin. either I didn't think to do that or I already did do it and then reinstalled the plug-in and forgot about it I know that I deleted and reinstalled the CTBP app itself, though.

thanks for your help!

happy to help. check your extensions in safari, and try simply disabling the minimalist one. then you might reach out to the app developer, let them know what issues you're having...

Minimalist doesn't have an extension. Cold Turkey Blocker Pro has one.

there
since 2010 i have cleared my cache, removed my cookies and cleared history in Safari all by myself!
most users here would avoid these 3rd party apps that hog RAM and make problems with out macs.
apple does take care of us were we don't need such apps ro programs,

well, I do those things myself, at times, too. I try not to, though, because Safari forgets all my passwords and I have to make it remember them all over again. which in this case, I suppose I will end up doing.

I tried entering the above into Script Editor. I got an error message.
