In earlier versions of OS X, I was able to do this easily by editing a css file as described in Dictionary lookup wider and taller (pop-up dictionary lookup styling) in OS X.

But since I upgraded I no longer have a Dictionaries directory in Library so the above approach doesn't seem to work.

Could somebody point me in the right direction? The default font is way too small for me.

Thanks!

I just found this comment on another forum:
"In macOS High Sierra the location of the files has changed. And maybe also the structure too. The files are now under:

/System/Library/Assets/com_apple_MobileAsset_DictionaryServices_dictionaryOSX/

Why 'MobileAsset' I have no idea. But the files are not editable even using sudo or sudo su."

There are some XML and plist files (default.css is gone) in this structure but nothing that refers to font size.

How would I go about increasing font size in the dictionary pop up now?

OK. Figured it out. While the directory structure has moved, the same approach still works. To see the css file you need to edit, remember to expand the dictionary package.

davidegp, how did you obtain the permission to edit the .css file. The system kept telling me that I don't have the permission to write to it. I tried using Terminal but same error message occurred.
Thanks a lot!
