How to increase ring time before message bank?

My iphone only rings 3 times before going to message bank. Does anyone know how to extend the time it rings? Looked through the massively informative official guide and can't see any way to do this.

Some phone companies let you change this in your voicemail settings.

Dial into your voicemail and step through the menus there, looking for voicemail settings.

i did this on someone's blackberry for them before
and it didn't quite work...it did ring longer, but instead of going to that persons voicemail, it would go to the voicemail system, asking you to input mailbox number, and such...

Perhaps it didn't work on a BB, but the people that tried it in on an iPhone reported no issues. We'll see what this OP says.

Worked for me and for my wife's iPhone (we both have 16GB 3GS). Set it to 30 seconds from default value of 20 seconds.
