Hello,
I have a friend gave me old version of Maya long time ago.
It's version 3.5 and 4.5. But I don't know how to install. She told
me before that Maya is a little bit different from other software.
I have OX Tiger in my G5 right now. Does anyone know
where has link to teach you how to insall or personally know?
I want to learn how to desing some prodcut design. If you know
how to install, please tell me. I am very appreciated....:)

Your friend is right, Maya is a little different to install. First off there is no way to just install Maya and be on your way without contacting Alias and paying them some money. If this is the PLE, just install it, if not read on.

Here's a brief overview of how this works, install the software and put in the serial #. Next you will need to contact Alias with the following info, your info, the version of Maya, the serial # and your computers hardware ID (Ethernet ID). You will then pay them some money. To transfer from one computer to another is $150. To transfer from a PC to a Mac is $1000. These both assume you are the registered owner of the software, I'm not sure if you can take over someone else's "seat". If you can I'm sure it's going to cost you. If your friend is not the registered owner or is still using the software in a higher version #, don't bother, you can't do it.

After that is all done, Alias will send you a doc with an encrypted code that has to placed in a hidden folder in OSX. This code will look at the version of Maya, the serial # and your computers hardware ID before it will start Maya for you.

Here's a link to Alias
