I have started a bootcamp installation on new (updated) mbp. During the install, windows-installation makes a critical error and says that the installation cannot continue. I managed to eject the disk by holding down the mouse button, but my problem is that the mbp starts up in the corrupted windows installation and stops again. I'm in an endless rutine where I cannot boot in Leopard again. I'v tried to give it the Leopard installation disk but it's beeing ejected. How do I get pass bootcamp and into OS X again.

Try this:
  • Shut down your MBP.
  • Press the power button and hold the ALT key down during the boot process.
  • You should be presented with two HD images where you can make a choice. One will be your Leopard installation HD name and the other probably named Windows.
  • Select your Leopard HD and continue booting.
  • Use Bootcamp Assistant to remove your Windows partition and restore the HD into one partition.
  • Restart the computer to make sure it boots into Leopard okay.
  • Recommend restarting via the install CD and using Disk Utilities to repair permissions and repair the HD. Then reboot into Leopard.
  • Use Bootcamp Assistant to partition your HD.
  • Attempt Windows installation again.

Cool. Glad to hear. :)

Please let us know how the new install goes.

BTW, I assume that you have a good condition Windows install disk. FWIW, I had problems before when using a disk that had a small scratch in a strategic location. I could easily make a copy of the CD, but during installation it would hang because the CD could not be read in that same spot. (I tried a few times and it hung at exactly the same spot each time.) Once I made a copy, my install issues went away. Something to consider if it hangs the second time.
