@geohot has released his jailbreak. It jailbreaks all iDevices running 3.1.2 (including the 3GS & iPod Touch 3G). BUT, just for the Touch 3G, it's tethered. It still jailbreaks the same as all other devices, which is as easy as running the app, and clicking on one button.

It requires Windows with iTunes installed. There is no Mac version yet. If you are on a Mac, as I am, just install Windows via Boot Camp (you should anyway) and use it there.

So far, I have been told that jailbreaking my 3.1 3GS is impossible since I am not jailbreaking from a hacked 3.0. Are you telling me that, with this method, I could jailbreak my never hacked 3.1 iPhone 3GS?
