I have a Firewire 800 drive and a USB... both drives go to sleep and I can't keep them on.

I have gone to System Preferences > Energy Saver > "Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible"... and have that unchecked.

Grrr! :mad:

I find this rather annoying too. The setting in System Prefs is just for the internal drives.

Other than that I don't know how to not make it sleep. Other than constantly having information going to and from it :p

Um, well, I don't know if this will help but;

I use a Seagate external and I use Windows on my Mac.

The software w/ Seagate came w/ utilities options that allowed me to adjust the sleep interval of it.

I changed the sleep time from '15 minutes' to 'Never'.
