On my Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 the battery life is poor and not consistent to be honest ... :( :( :(

It can get 5 hours of sceen time(which is and good and long enough for me) for a couple days everytime i restarted the Tab Pro 8.4 or cleared the cache.

But after a few days it goes down hill and i get only 3/4 hours of sceen time even when i just doing light stuff like web browsing or watching videos.

I don't really play game a lot on my Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 and i always have my brightness under 40% and have things like Bluetooth, GPS etc off and i use the "Power saving mode" all the time and i keep on force closing apps/games to stop draning the battery life but it still does not make a big difference...

Maybe because of TouchWiz is draining the battery faster than normal but i don't really know?.....

Just wondering does this happen to you? And How to keep getting good enough battery life(5 hours of sceen time) all the time?

And why everytime i restart my Tab Pro 8.4 and i could get 5 hours of sceen time but after a few days it goes down hill and can only get 3/4 MAX of sceen time on every single charge?..

I really WANT to get good battery life(5 hours of sceen time) all the time on my Tab Pro 8.4 because that is good and long enough for me. :)

Force closing apps WORSENS your battery life. Leave them running.

You've got 2GB of RAM, it's fine for your apps to use it. Having your apps stored in RAM enables your device to switch apps quickly: It's a good thing. If you device needs more RAM it will free it up automatically. Flushing out the RAM and forcing your device to load your apps from scratch each time uses more CPU and battery.

Yes, that is a common belief that is often repeated. Unfortunately, it's not entirely true.

The mere act of installing some/many apps results in them auto-starting. Even if you've never launched the app after installing, these apps load themselves at boot time. The more apps installed on a device, the more apps get loaded into RAM... regardless if they've ever been launched. That results in noticeable lag when launching an app that is not in RAM.

Apps loaded in RAM aren't innocently dormant. They still consume resources. Their resource usage doesn't always appear under the app name but sometimes under the generic "Android system" entry.

Billy95Tech, I recommend freshly booting the device and then making a list of all of the apps that are running. After a few days when you detect battery life "going downhill", make another list of all of the apps that are running. Any differences in the list will help narrow down the potential culprits.

As I've mentioned in previous threads, I regularly get 5-6 hours (and more) from my GTab Pro 8.4... and that includes poorly behaved games like Candy Crush Saga. That's the only app that causes the GTab to get warm.
