How can I have program running while screen is off with password protected? If I'm working on a project and downloading/converting something then use fast switch account to go to the log in window for a couple hours. Are my programs still running? Are my files still downloading/converting or it only restart after I log back on?

They should still be running when you use fast switching to go to a login screen.

Or here's an amazing idea: Why don't you just try it?

PS: Control + Shift + Eject button to turn the screen off while your computer still runs.

Use expose. I set the bottom right corner to turn the screen off. Whenever I have to get up I just move the mouse over there and there you have it.

Password is required after 5 min for me but you can change it.
