How can I learn all about mobile app marketing? Is there a course? A book?

I see there are companies that you can hire to handle your app marketing campaign. Where did these people learn how to do that?

Also, have you ever paid a marketing company to promote your app? How much did it cost? Was it worth it?

They learned from experience. Sure, there are books and courses, but just type "advertise on mobile devices" and see what you get. It does get expensive, though.
