I have an iPad I want to use as a payment terminal. I want it hooked to my iCloud account for Find My iPad and App downloads. I don’t want it to sync mail, contacts, pictures, or anything else.

i don’t care about web surfing or anything, I just don’t want my info to sync to it at all. I know I can turn these off under Settings>iCloud, but they are easily turned back on by anyone with the iPad password.

How do I keep anyone from turning these features back on? What’s the best way to limit access on an iPad?

I will look at that again, I briefly looked through it and it didn’t look like I could do some of the things I needed to do.

If you want full control, use Apple Configurator 2 (from the mac app store). It‘s very flexible and will let you disable the ability to edit accounts which will prevent those options from being changed.

Another option is to just put it on its own Apple ID and add that ID to your family. That way syncing won’t matter.

I’ll check into both. Thanks

If it’s just going to be a payment terminal and only needs access to one app, you can use the built in kiosk mode. It locks the device into one app so the user can’t get to anything else. I don’t know what your exact situation is, but that would be an easy way to lock it down for users, but still have full control.
