how to load a 450page pdf onto Ipad

I have a 450 pdf on my thinkpad want to load to ipad I have the goodreader just not sure how to proceed?

There are a couple of ways to do that.

One is using goodreader to set up a WebDAV server that the thinkpad can connect to. If you open goodreader and hit the "Wifi" icon.. it should start a server that your PC can connect to.

Alternately, you can connect the iPad to your computer and load up iTunes.. click on your iPad, go to the Apps tab.. and scroll down to the File Sharing section.. you should see GoodReader on the list.. click it, then click the "add" button.. and navigate to your PDF.

iTunes should copy the file to your iPad to a place where goodreader can grab it, then when you open goodreader after the transfer is finished, you should see the PDF file in there. (You can do this without forcing a sync.. so you can do it from a different computer than your main one if you're careful. )

if you use itunes sync it will be much faster.

Just as an FYI, with Air Share, a pure text PDF seems to begin to choke the reader around 1700 pages...

I too use a large PDF for work. it's around 700 pages. I tried Goodreader and Airsharing but they both crapper out on such big files. Download ReaddleDocs and thank me later :) it is far and away the best file viewer I've found yet.

i use Cloud Readers for my pdf's i have 1200 page encyclopedias and it works fast. Cloud Readers is free!
I didnt know Goodreader had problems with huge files.

I use Goodreader for large PDFs and it works fine for me. Multiple 500+ page PDFs no problems.

I loaded about 300 PDF journal articles over the air with good reader and had no problems.

ok I did do the following with mixed results

google docs did work but i could not get goodreader to open it so i had to use whatever google uses and it worked but all the fetures you are used to did ...so i could read it but that was it ...

dropbox i have and it did the same thing

finally i used the itunes sync loaded the doc and that worked
thanks for the tips on the other free readers
