I recently bought an iPad 2 from a second hand seller, the iPad works great overall and since I was able to downgrade the firmware on the iPad 2 to IOS 6.1.3, I thought it was a great find. After a few attempts of loading the signed IOS 6 iPsw file I saw no result. I realized that my iPad that I bought was a Mid-2012 Model, which can't be downgraded. I was wondering if I can somehow modify the signed iPad ipsw to be able to downgrade my Mid-2012 iPad 2. Is that possible since the firmware are pretty much identical?

There are no signed versions of iOS 6 nor is there anyway to modify the ipsw as the firmwares always need to be signed by Apple’s server. It is not possible to downgrade your iPad 2.

The Ipsw for IOS 6.1.3 is now signed for the iPad 2 and the iPhone 4s, however it is not signed for the Mid-2012 iPad.
Why don't you have a look at the site www.ipsw.me
