Hello! I have a flip case and I would love to have it work like a Smart Cover. So when I open it up, the iPhone wakes up. And when I close it, it sleeps. I'm guessing I need to install a tweak with the proximity sensor. I've tried Always On Proximity but it doesn't work.

Just get a couple of small magnets, experiment with where they need to be placed to shut off and turn on the iPad, and glue them to the inside of the cover.
If that is the case, how is it turning off and on the screen when you put the phone against your ear or remove it when you have a call? What i mean is, the proximity sensor does just that.. without magnets.
Thats because the iPhone has proximity sensors, the iPad does not need them. This is why the iPad uses magnets.
MacBooks also use magnets to put it to sleep when you close the lid. I can sleep my MacBook by placing my iPads smart cover on the edge of the left palm rest.
Alright and is there any way to use the proximity sensor to replicate the Smart Cover effect?
I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but there's a tweak in Cydia called SleekSleep, which enables you to turn on/off your phone by swiping across the proximity sensor. Maybe it'll also work with a flip case, I don't know.
the obvious downside though is that the proximity sensor will be always enabled and drain your battery.

Like i was saying, proximity sensor should work np, as the iphone has it. Ipad and macbook for example (as you say) uses magnets to detect if it's closed or not. Hence my reply to previous poster is a hint that magnets will probably not work

I wouldn't know, but in the screenshots in Cydia it says that the sensor insomnia may cause increased battery drain. Maybe the OP could try to contact the developer of that tweak and kindly request a feature which would make the app work for him.
I think some of us are confused. He doesn't want a Smart Cover for his iPad...he wants to create one for his iPhone. I at least did not understand what he was looking for.
OP: I don't think there is any such tweak available. If you want it, you'd have to write it yourself -- or get someone else to write it for you. As others have said, the proximity sensor would have to be on all the time, which I imagine would drain the battery. After all, the proximity sensor works by shining an infrared LED and detecting bounce-back. The LED would have to be on all the time. And, while I imagine it's relatively low-powered, it's definitely going to definitely drain the battery. It might also cause an overheating issue for the light sensor...I don't know.
I just got a reply from the dev, and he said that sleeksleep2 (free update available in a few weeks) will have the function to make this work. ^_^
