What is your favorite step-by-step guide?
I'm making a sports app for my friends company.

Asking "how to make an iPhone app" is like asking "how to cook a meal". It's that vague and the most simple answer is "it depends on what you're trying to create".

You could try Beginning iPhone Development 3. Its by Apress. It will give you a very basic intro to iphone Programming. However, you have to at least understand objective-c. If you don't understand that you may want to get programming for the mac by Apress as well.

I'd recommend Stephen Kochan's "Programming in Objective-C 2.0". The author is even a member of these very forums.
