How to make iMac Portable?

I realize that the imac is intended to not be portable... That is why I am asking so please don't respond with "It's an iMac. It's not supposed to be portable. Get a laptop." So here's my question:

Is there a way to make an iMac more portable? I feel like unplugging it and plugging it back in a bunch would be bad for it. Maybe not, but I'm just asking for some tips. Thanks!

as far as desktop computers go the imac is pretty portable.

use of a wireless keyboard and mouse would help, wifi, anything to eliminate wires is a plus.

are you trying to take this to the coffee shop or to another house?

maybe having another power cable at the alternate location would be helpful.

not real sure what your goal is.

Unplugging cables from the iMac could only do harm if the machine is running, but otherwise it should't do harm, unless you're careless while unplugging.

I used to transport my iMac quite a lot last year for a production, and I just took the box it came with and had no problems transporting it.

Hire a Sherpa.

Seriously, schlep it to college and back, or to a friend's house, or to work and back if you need to. Just don't do it everyday. Agree with above replies. But Apple NEVER designed it with portability in mind (unless you count the laptop internal components).

Personally, I'm planning on moving mine around with me to LAN parties. I'm considering a slip cover or something for the screen and carrying it under my arm.
