Apple News updates are getting out of hand. I've unsubscribed to almost everything but I keep getting ridiculous "news alerts" like -- "how to cook a turkey" or "(insert ridiculous headline here)".

It makes me want to slap whoever is pushing this stuff.

Yes, I'd like to know if there's a terrorist attack. No, I don't want to be bothered with your dumb articles.

That’s why I uninstalled it and am currently trying out Flipboard. I’ve disliked so many BGR articles in News and it keeps showing them to me.

WAIT WAIT!!! STOP THE PRESS!!! This just in from the WALL STREET JOURNAL!!!:

"Forget leftovers, foodies cook up gourmet lunches at work....."

Does the Wall Street Journal really think it's that important to interrupt my work to tell me this!?!?!?
[doublepost=1511808487][/doublepost]WAIT!!! THIS JUST IN from "THE NEW YORK TIMES"!!!!!

"We made a list of easy(ish) things you can do now to be happier in life......"

WTF!!?!?! New York Times?!?!?!?!?

Why I don't get notices from apps like news - there is rarely actually "news" (not a political statement) but things just don't change enough during the day to warrant, to me, notices from NEWS vs. just checking a couple of times a day. I prefer to judge value for my self rather than allowing someone else to tell me that it is important.

I also just turn off notifications from the news app, mainly to save battery. I basically turn off all app notifications except mail, calendar and instant messaging apps.
