I am trying to prepare an OpenCore Legacy Patcher (OCLP) installation USB drive for an iMac I don’t currently have access to. I know, it’s an iMac16,2. Would this be the right procedure:
  1. Open OpenCore Legacy Patcher app (1.2.1 as of this posting).
  2. Click the Settings button and select iMac16,2 as the target model. Click on the Return button.
  3. Click on the Create macOS Installer button.
I am hoping but not entirely sure that now I have an installer that is bootable on an iMac16,2, even though it was created on a MacBookPro18,2.

Who can reassure me?

Yes, that is correct. After creating the macOS installer, you should be prompted to install the OpenCore to the newly created installer drive with your target model selected, once done so you should be good to go for the target machine.

Will there be any difference in the installer created, if you do so on a different machine (selecting the target machine in settings), than if you actually did it on the target machine? Will it be better customized for your hardware if you make it on the target machine?
