It is quite a pain to get music to playback on homepod. If I want to listen to music, I have to swipe down, long-hold music-square, tap the wireless circle thing, hope Homepod is displayed in the list and if it's not then wait till it is, tap the Homepod. And if I pause playback for a minute or two, I often have to reconnect to Homepod when I press play again. This is another major annoyance.

Sure would be awesome to be able to tap once on something or at most two presses to have Homepod activated. Anybody know how I might create a shortcut button to send music to Homepod?

There is no way to use Shortcuts to connect to HomePod. I've wanted this feature for a while. It would be nice to say "I'm home" and then have it turn on the lights and start a playlist but maybe they figure you can just ask the HomePod to do that already.
