Sometimes when I ask a question, she’ll actually answer but other times just pop up something on the screen. I think this was maybe a recent change at some point, but I figured out a fix. (With the help of a Google search of course)
Go to Settings, Siri & Search, then Siri Responses, then choose “Prefer Spoken Responses”.
