So, I got a new Mac and on my old Mac I have my Photos Library (synced to iCloud photo library) on an external HDD.
I know that if I plug the HDD into the new Mac, then hold command and launch photos , then select the library, it will load, but upon enabling iCloud, it will then try and upload ALL the photos again.
This will take a LONG time as it is 75GB.
The other option is to load photos on the New Mac, create a new library and have it download ALL the photos in iCloud.
This will also take a long time
If I use the migration assistant, does anyone know if it will be smart enough to tell the new Mac " Hey you should be expecting a synced external iCloud photo library" and not try and upload them ALL again when I plug the drive into the new Mac?
