How to Mirror Apps like NBC/ABC on ATV3

ok, so I'm wondering if there is an app or any way to use Airplay with non airplay enabled apps.

The big reason is that I watch a lot of my TV on Apps like NBC/ABC and would like to be able to stream those from my Ipad to my my ATV.

i've searched around but haven't found anything. Any way to do this? Why don't these companies just build it into their apps?

In the past my solution was a VGA cable from my Macbook to my TV but I would like to move past that.

Start the app you want to watch then take 4 finger and swipe up slowly, now in the area that you just opened by swiping up you now take one finger and press and swipe to the right, you now should see the controls, look for one in a circle with a square with an arrow pointing up. Tap on it and you will see the mirroring option.

I see controls, but not an AirPlay control...at least not in the ABC app.
