My wife's is self employed and made the mistake of using her personal email and mobile number for business. For a better work life balance We are moving her personal photos currently 300 gig to a new iCloud account and a spare iPhone & laptop which is only 256GB.

Whats the best way to move all the photos across? because its a large library her the photos aren't stored locally on her work machine - they are all in the cloud tied to her work iCloud account.

I can't think of the quickest and best way to move them across? These are old devices so cant do the shared library option.

@HobeSoundDarryl any ideas :)

I think you're going to have to move them in batches. Select a group in her Library and export them at full resolution to an external drive. Then import them to the new library. Repeat until done.

Turn on Optimize storage and let iCloud manage them. That's how you'll fit 300GB of photos on a 256GB device.

If you care about the photos be sure to implement a 3-2-1 backup program. As iCloud isn't a backup service it shouldn't be one of the 3 backups.

I‘ve done this and its working, albeit taking ages to upload But should be done soon.. Thanks

Yes 100% and i also comment on forums that most people don’t even have a back up because it’s just kept in iCloud or Google drive. If they lost their devices, forgot their login or got hacked they will have lost all their information. I know its unlucky and unlikely to happen but i have heard of it happening to a few people, my sister being one of them.
