My ex wants her music from my iMac on iTunes. I don’t have a problem doing this for her, but a bit confused on the following.

  1. All of her music is combined with mine. How can i get my music out of the iTunes folder I would put on a USB stick?
  2. If there’s an easy way to do this , will iTunes still put the library file into her PC that shows my Artists albums without any content?
  3. Won’t Playlists etc still show up?
Thanks for any help!

Two options:
1. Duplicate your iTunes Library file. Open iTunes with the duplicate. Delete all your music from it. Transfer the duplicate Library file to her PC. However, there may be authorisation/permissions problems on her PC.

2. Drag and drop all her music from iTunes to an external USB and then to her PC. Authorisation/permission as above, though simply authorising her PC may solve that.

[doublepost=1519479428][/doublepost]Thanks Dave. I chose the 2nd choice and moved her Music folder from the iTunes Media folder. But won’t I need to include the whole iTunes folder? That includes the Album art, XML library file, etc? Im a bit confused on this, as I have moved my own libraries to new computers. But have never transferred to another computer with a different account.

How nice about this do you want to be? Most of her album covers should autodownload when she connects to store, or whatever the music database is these days. You're already putting in a lot of work. Why didn't she keep a copy for herself in the first place?

Reasonably nice, which you rightly point out has been achieved. I just want this finished, and if the albums pull up the Cover Art that’s all I need. Thanks for the input! Time to move on.

Hmmm...I actually meant dragging the individual tracks form iTunes, but never mind. Album art should transfer automatically(it does with the individual track method).

The reason I did it that way, was that there was about 40 GB’s of music. Most of it was hers. So I just copied the Music folder to the USB drive and deleted my albums. Now I can go back to my Music folder, and clean out her albums to make more room on my hd.
