How to move Photos App ver3.0 images/movies to latest version of Photos App on new iMac?

OS X - ver 10.13.6 High Sierra
Photos App - ver 3.0 (3291.13.230)
Location - Photos Library.photoslibrary (300GB)


Buying iMac so will be running the latest OSX and what ever the latest version of the Photos App. How easy is it to migrate/convert my photos/videos in ver 3.0 of Photos App to the one of the new iMac?

I keep reading some horror stories about people either losing photos or their meta data when moving to Photos App.

Any help is welcome!

Use Migration Assistant to move all of your stuff over to your new Mac.

Do you have the option to only move over Photos App? Everything else will be a manual migration. Thanks for chiming in!

It should be a no-brainer. Copy your Photos Library over to the new Mac and open it with Photos - done.

No, there isn't. In that case just copy the Photos Library file manually as Don't Panic says.
