Im gifting an iPad Air 1 to my Dad this weekend and he has an iPhone 7.

He does not wanting any type of phone call to ever bother him on his iPad and to always strictly only ring his iPhone, as it should be.

He does however LOVE receiving FaceTime Video calls from his grandchildren and doesn't mind a FaceTime Video call ringing his iPhone 7 or his iPad Air 1.

How can this be achieved?

Again, he does not want regular phone calls or even FaceTime Audio calls to ever bug him on his iPad.

Hopefully this can be accomplished?

On the iPhone:

Settings -> Phone -> Calls on other devices

Turn off "Allow calls on other devices"

On the iPhone:

Is it really that simple?

If so that's awesome.

The Air 1 arrives tomorrow in the mail and am gift wrapping it for my pops on Saturday before I see him and having my daughter hand it to him; he's gonna be so excited. Thank you!

And if you also want to prevent the iPad from sending and receiving regular SMS messages, on the iPhone:

Settings -> Messages -> Text message forwarding

Unselect all devices you don't want to be able to do so.
