Dear friends,
for security policy reasons my company has disabled the mount of a USB storage device on my company's MacBook.
The intended way to share files with customers is through Box (similar to the better known DropBox).
All good and sound but I was recently hit by a big problem.
A lot of my job has to do with presenting at conferences and as most large conferences require you cannot plug your machine but have to hand down your presentation to a slide center. Problem is that the slide center did NOT have an Internet connection
Is there a way, in such an emergency to overcome the mounting restriction?
I tried the:
sudo kextload IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext
command in the Extensions directory but it did not work.
MacOS 10.13.6
Thank you
PS For those interested, when you insert a USB key you will see the volume in Disk Utility but the mount just does not happen.
PPS I have a sound IT security background so am aware of the implications
PPPS No the corporate policy is brainless and exceptions will not be granted even if well documented. Too expensive for them to handle.
PPPS I can mount network volumes
