How to physically mask the visual clutter around my MBP monitor's current location?

I need to be in a different work environment for 2 months.
The amount of visual clutter around and behind my laptop's monitor makes focus more difficult.

Any suggestions?

Limitations:
- I can't change / move things away from my visual periphery
- I must work from this exact location


2 impractical ideas:

1) Expand something like a massive folding fan to 1 foot to either side and above of my MBP 16".

2) Drape a sheet around me and my laptop

This works great but it's too hot. And it looks odd .

If I understand your scenario correctly, it sounds like you want to make it easier to focus on your laptop screen and minimize the distractions (at least visually) around you.

If so, here are some things which may help:
- poster board. Place this immediately behind your laptop to create a more enclosed space. You could go wild and add some top coverage, too, making it like an enclosed cubicle. Or for that matter, just get a giant box (like a refrigerator) and work inside that. 😉
- wearing a hat to minimize distractions above you
- glasses with blinders for minimizing peripheral distractions
- VR headset or Vision Pro

That Trifold posterboard is a killer idea.

follow-up:

I bought a $11 film screen. Black on 1 side, silver on the other.
It folds down into a small circle.
When unfolded, it's like a an oval car windshield sun reflector.
I simply lean the black side behind my monitor. So much better!

Result achieved: This creates a layer of visual blackness 1 foot above, left, and right of my monitor.

Unanticipated result: Prevents additional sun glare from entering my eyeballs.
