I have just brought a MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2011) and I want to play The Sims 3 without using the External SuperDrive. I've seen online retailers selling The Sims 3 as a download, i.e. no CD, so I know it is possible.

It may be worth mentioning that I have installed all the Expansion Packs and Stuff Packs.

Thanks.

You shouldn't need any mod, The Sims 3 website let's you download them. When you add them to your cart it gives you the instant download option! :)

@StephTheMuggle: I believe that the OP has already purchased and installed the game + EPs and SPs, and so is looking for a way to simply use what he/she already has in place, rather than (re)purchasing the game as a digital download.

Same Problem...

I have the same problem and was wondering if there was any work around to get EA's Origin on a Mac...?

BTW, if you do find the Origin work around and was wondering how to get games on there, just go to activate.EA.com and it will automatically allow you to download it.

If you already activated it on the Sims 3 website, you just have to buy whatever the newest expansion pack, activate it at the above URL before the website, and it should work.

Thanks in advance.

Origin is PC-only. You might have luck running it in something like Crossover, though.

TS3 smooth running on MBA?

Was thinking of buying TS3 for my 13 inch mba only bought in sept 2011, does it run smoothly on them? just worried I'll fork out the money and then find out it's glitchy and lag-gy!

The Sims 3 is an old game. It should work fine.

It might slow down when a lot of actions is going on, but aside from it, I'm sure you can play it smoothly.
