How to preorder ?

Hello from Germany,

I live in Berlin and I will be in Florida from the 13th of April for 3 weeks.
Now I would like to make a preorder for the ipad.
My problem is that I have a German credit card and a German home address on it. Does anyone know if this will be fine for preordering it ? I have an US address for the time of my vacations.
Is there any chance to pick it up at a retail store or directly from the Apple store ? Do they need in both cases directly the credit card ?
When I want to preorder at an Apple retail store, how does it work ?

I would assume that by the 13th you should be able to just buy one at an Apple Store, unless numbers are super constrained or Apple hits a super grand slam with this product.

I recall this being asked just recently here on MR. The answer was that the CC needed to have a US based address tied to it for a pre-order that is for a US launch. They posted the link from Apple but I can't seem to find the thread atm.

As stated above you can probably walk into a Apple store or Best Buy etc.. and buy one when your in the states.
 
You have some time until preorders are available, so if you are visiting someone (you trust) in the US you can send them the money, have them preorder for you, get it shipped to them and just pick it up when you get here?
