Right now I have a 4S Jailbroken on 6.1.2, on Wednesday I get my new Iphone5. I will be giving the 4S to my girlfriend. How do I wipe it without losing my jailbreak? Also I plan om backing it up and then restoring it on my iphone5 or will that not work? I only need pics/contacts/ notes/calendar on iphone5.

Hopefully I get 6.1.2 on iphone5 lol but I doubt it.

Just logout of all account and delete all pics/txts etc..

if she has a iphone alreday you can just put her backup on yours and it will work.

I wouldn't try to recover a backup to a new iPhone and bring all the issues it may or may not have. iCloud will bring your contacts and everything related from the service and that's ok but iTunes backups will bring lots of unnecessary stuff from an old device to a brand new one, inclusively of a different model.

Just start fresh with the i5, that's the best option!

Actually that is how Apple designed the itunes backup, move your info from device to device, it's the same as an iCloud backup, so no it won't be a problem.

Besides that, the question was how to preserve the jailbreak on the 4S and remove the info.

Also hope that your new iPhone 5 has 6.0-6.1.2 or you will be out of a Jailbreak till iOS 7 ish. I restored my backup from my iPhone 4 (jailbroken) to my iPhone 5 with zero problems. My old JB tweaks also went right back to the way they were on the old device.

I just like starting fresh every time I get a new device. I only use iCloud to keep my contacts so I don't mind restoring it.

I remember when Evasi0n came out, one the guys said to users avoid restoring their backup after the jailbreak because that could bring some issues with the backup. I never used it before anyway.

Maybe I don't trust those iTunes backups enough, that's all. :p

I did exactly the same. Lost my iPhone 4, got the 5 which at the time was not JB'able and did a restore which got my back to where I was, when the JB came along, all my old tweak settings were still in the prefs folder so they picked up right away.
