How to prevent iPhone suicide?

So when I still had an iPhone 4 I jail broke it, everything was fine for months until one day it turned itself off, would only turn on in safe mode but won't register with iTunes for me to solve the problem. I'm scared to jailbreak my new iPhone now, but I can't stand a stock iPhone does anyone know why my phone did that or how to prevent it?

I don't think what you described is a common problem. What it sounds like is a bad USB cable, or a bad cydia tweak. It's going to be nearly impossible for someone here to determine the cause without more details. You or someone who had access to your phone may have attempted on Over the Air Update (OTA). If you still have that phone, try to put it into DFU mode and restore it to the latest firmware.

It sounds as if you are asking us to deduce the cause of the problem with your i4 and in doing that reassure you that whatever that problem was it won't occur with your new phone - because you cannot stand stock any longer.

As already indicated, without further input we can only broadly speculate.

And no one can reassure you that this won't happen again. We cannot control what you install or what you do with your phone. We can only make suggestions about being careful, doing your research and not installing anything that is incompatible or from a sketchy source.

There will be bugs. There will be safe mode. It's part of jailbreaking and part of that is knowing what to do when that happens. Educate yourself, stay within safe bounds and then barring any hardware issues (which has nothing to do with jailbreaking) you should do just fine.

Sounds like you had a hardware issue.
A JB device will be recognized by itunes and will always restore back to stock.
