Hello all,

I recently bought my very first Mac, so excuse me for my stupid questions :)

I windows you can choose to print only the part you have selected with your mouse on an webpage as an example, this off course saves alot of ink/toner and perhaps even some trees here and there?

I'm sure it is pretty easy to do this in Mac OS (10.4.3), but i can't find the function? I can only choose to print the entire page. Or i have to copy the text, go into Finder and use the text thing in there to paste it in to.

TIA

Lars

I'm only using 10.3.9 so some of what I say may be wrong. What program in particular do you want to print from? I might be wrong but Microsoft Office supports "Print Selection", in which you can print only what you've selected. Other than that really poor attempt at help, I can't think of anything else. Maybe creating a desktop printer through System Preferences and then dragging the text there? Sorry for the rubbish advice!

That's a program feature, not an operating system feature. Safari doesn't have a print selected text feature, but Camino and Firefox do (when you pick Print, pull down the menu that starts out saying "copies and pages" and choose the Firefox or Camino entry to find the magic checkbox).
