Can I just simply copy the keychain file from Lion over to ML and have it working? Or is it more steps involved? I want to know how to do this the correct way so I don't end up screwing anything up. I have a lot of my stored passwords in there and now that I have a fresh, clean install of ML, I'd like to get that file over.

You can use the migration app in utilities to do that and everything else.
I'm actually doing this right now on my new drive that I installed the GM on.

Just do shift-command-g from the desktop then copy ~/Library/Keychains into the popup and hit enter. Copy the keychain files in that folder to an external drive and move them to the new ML install.

Once you copy then files to ML, you will need to logout and back in for the Keychain app to recognize the keychain you moved over.

Thanks WeaselBoy!

Your prescription finally got me off "high center" in my effort to get my old MacbookPro keychain transferred to my new machine. In fact, I'm going to chase down your posts next time I have another issue, as you seem to be a goldmine of information.
