Got the iPad with the magic keyboard folio. Absolutely love it. Killer combo and very functional.

Only issue is that the sides of the iPad are bare, great to look at but I can see this getting scuffed up quickly.

are there any good protection options anyone can think of?

for all the OGs out there, we used to have bumper cases for the really old iPhones that would protect the edges but wouldn’t cover the back or the screen. That would be perfect with this
 
Any bumper-style accessory is going to add a raised lip around both edges of the iPad, which would prevent it from mounting to the keyboard folio. Maybe there are skins available for the outside edge but I think those would not provide any impact protection. They look tacky too.
