Why can’t I put newsstand in a folder?” Actually, you can! I like every other Apple Device owner, was excited about iOS 5. After installing it and getting everything set up, I was annoyed at the fact that Newsstand is not allowed to go in a folder. Honestly, it’s an app I don’t think I will ever be using. I tweeted my frustration on Twitter. Luckily I found out via a few Twitter friends it it IS possible to put Newsstand in a folder, you just need to trick your device into letting you, and you need to be quick about it. Simply follow these steps:

1. Take two apps and go to create a folder
2. The second the apps are in the folder and it’s doing the folder creation animation, drag Newsstand into the folder
3. As long as you’re quick enough Newsstand will go into the folder!

If you open Newsstand while it’s in a folder your springboard will crash. If you want to use Newsstand at some point just take it out of the folder and you’re good to go!

EDIT: I did not find this on my own, nor is the above link my site. It is not my site and I did not make this find, I only found the actual article.

So you can out it into a folder but once it's there you can't use it without taking it out? :( I guess that's OK if you don't use it but I hope they tweak the OS to allow this without the trickery and subsequent restriction.

I just tried the same method with folders. Turns out, you can nest folders inside of others using this method. Of course, you can't use them without the iPad resetting, but kind of funny anyway.

Edit: when the iPad restarts, the change is negated.
