Hello,

because of an issue that is still not solved (Time Machine didn't backup movpkg-files), I was asked by the Apple Support Team to do a partition on my current external harddrive I use for backups in order to see whether the same issue occured on a separate user account. Well, that didn't work out. Afterwards I erased the now unnecessary partition on my external harddrive. And now my problem is that Time Machine doesn't recognize the old backup disk anymore.

I get the error message you can see on the screenshot.

I certainly don't want to erase the harddrive … there must be a way to fix this issue?

Kind regards

I had a lovely chat with the Apple Support today – for over an hour. Apparently, this problem cannot be fixed without buying a new external harddrive … which I won't do.

Well, this thread can be closed. This problem is not solvable. :D
