iPod How to reformat iPod without a disc

I'm trying to reformat my ipod from windows to mac so that I can install linux on it but I don't have the disc that comes with the iPod since I bought it used...is there any other way of doing this?

You don't need a disc to restore an iPod. Go into iTunes, plug your iPod in, and click restore on the iPod's tab in iTunes. Easy.

you usually don’t have to worry about formatting your iPod. Formatting happens automatically when you first set up your iPod. If you use your iPod with a Mac, during this process it becomes Mac formatted. If you use it with Windows, it gets Windows formatting.
