How to reinstall O/S without CDs?

Is there another way to reinstall the O/S that came on our 09 Mac Mini? I bought a new SSD for it and 8gb of ram and wanted to upgrade it today. But for the life of me I can not locate our box with the software that was in it. Is there another way to get the software for it? Please let me know.
