Hey everyone,

i have the top sites set as my default home screen when opening safari, i like the overview with the icons resembling the website. On mavericks the icons refreshed themselves time after time or could be prompted via cmd+R to do so.

However, since i upgraded to yosemite they don't refresh any more and the cmd+R has no effect..

Any clues about this? Is there a new refresh feature or any setting, that i need to enable?

best regards
Dowjohnny

update: i also tried restarting safari or the mac itself, but no change to the icons! Still show the sites as they were the day i upgraded to yosemite..

Same issue

I use top sites as a daily feed for certain sites so it's a great advantage when they automatically update.

Since updating to Yosemite they do not auto refresh, or even refresh when hitting cmd + R, the sometimes refresh their thumbnail after visiting the site.

This is very annoying.

I don't use top sites anymore but use what you see below using "Custom Tools"...All my sites are now visible

I don't like that when I have my faves (top sites) pinned and I clear history, Yosemite adds default sites that were preloaded into the program...none of the other previous OSs did this...so annoying.

Hey,

i'm aware of that custom tools solution, but i think if apple offers the top sites feature it should work.. especially when it worked in the previous OS version!!

I hope there will be a fix for this in an upcoming update.. I really like the view with the little preview icons of the websites

Sorry for opening an old thread, but it's January 2015 and I still have the same issue. Did you or anyone else ever figure out a way to refresh Top Sites?

Thanks.

Hey, sorry i did not find a way to do it yourself..

But i have noticed, that the "tiles" do refresh them sometimes when i visit the respective website, but not all sites do behave like this and some are still showing the same picture since the upgrade to yosemite... annoying!

This has been driving me nuts ever since migrating to Yosemite.
