I know I can SSH in to a jailbroken iPhone to delete Cydia, but that would leave OpenSSH on the phone. Are there any other ways to remove Cydia? Thanks.

I want to jailbreak an iPhone 3G for a friend. I want to remove Cydia so that she doesn't accidentally install anything that would sacrifice the stability of the phone.

You could install SBSettings and then hide the Cydia icon.

Get DiskAid (google it to find download link) and delete Cydia using that. No SSH, no need to worry about leaving it open.

You can delete cydia without installing SSH. Just use diskaid or iphonebrowser or some other software that allows you browse the iPhone root directory from a pc or mac.

Maybe your friend shouldnt have a JB phone if there is a worry. I dont see the point of jailbreaking it and then removing the Cydia icon because the apps in there get updated at times and you wont know it without the icon.

It sounds like he is only jailbreaking it to use the ultrasn0w unlock for his friend.
