Hi

I am SICK  of Apple constantly spamming me with notifications
asking for my phone number, can someone please help?
I tried turning something off in the settings but now I just
get the usual notification drop-down in the top, only now
it just says ’notification’ instead of what it’s actually about.
Please tell me it’s possible to remove that drop-down turd!

You can’t completely disable notifications or at least I don’t think you can.

What you can do is for whatever is giving you notifications is swipe slowly to the left till you see options. Then click turn off. It will disable notifications for whatever app is giving you notifications.

I’m not sure why you think Apple is asking for your phone number? Maybe you’re getting some sort of spam text notification?

That's my take. I have never received a notification from Apple asking for my phone number.

I would report it to your carrier as spam (7726 for T-Mobile).

It’s because I won’t give my phone number to complete my apple-id,
so I’m constantly being spammed with notifications about it.

My iPad is always under DND sleeping depending on where the notification is coming from app wise, you can turn off that apps notifications under settings/ notification

Swipe on the Notification itself LEFT, and Select Turn Off. Voila done.

I agree to a point but you have to pick your hills to battle on.

I give very few my number, but sometimes for things you rely on you need to give them trust. Hence, Apple gets my number as they provide the OS across the devices in my life, with which I wouldn’t be able to do my work.

I just checked on my iPad (iPadOS 15.6.1) - under Settings>Apple ID>Contactable At I just provided an Apple ID with no telephone number.

Are you referring to Trusted Phone Number in Settings>Password & Security? I do not find the concept of a trusted number condemnable, I use two-factor authentication. If you don’t, I think that you do not have to give any landline or mobile number.

What devices/OS versions are “flooding” you with notifications?
