This icon only comes when I share my screen via remote management, its not "screen mirror" icon which also looks same and can be hidden under control centre.

I have tried these:

1. Tried holding CMD to remove it
2. Tried third part apps which hides icon under one icon, but this icon doesn't hide.

I know its safe as it tells us when someone is viewing and controlling my screen but is there any way to hide this ? or change icon to some other icon ? Thanks

Can you remove it with System Prefs > Menu & Dock?

You can also use Bartender to hide Menubar Icons.
Thanks for replying.

There is no option to hide screen sharing icon from settings (only option is to hide screen mirroring icon)

Yes I tried bartender, it hides all the icon but leaves this ? maybe macos has added an extra security on this one, so no one can hide it.

Maybe you can't in the same way that you can't hide the green camera light or orange microphone light.
Agree, seems like this.
That is correct. The icon remains visible for privacy reasons.
I too think so.
There is no legitimate reason to want to hide that icon.
Correct, but there should be a way to customise it if not hide, maybe a way to change icon with another custom icon using terminal or going into secret directory, couldn't find.

If it were trivial to change the icon, that’d totally circumvent the privacy benefits of showing that icon.
