Hello,

since iOs 14 the dots at the bottom are taking much more space. A new line of apps could fit there

is it possible to remove them from screen?

See attached image.

thank you

Yes, if you only have apps on one page the dots don't appear. The space is not reclaimed though.

But why? I know what app on my phone why such a large portion of the screen is sacrificed like this?
This feels like an “accessibility” feature

Pretty annoying. Not sure if they shifted the icons up or not, but yeah this bugs the hell out of me too.

Apple wants to "control" the usage of space. I'm sure they have a technical/logistical justification for it though.

I think I understand why the extra space is there. Someone could potentially only have stacks of widgets on their home screen(s). If so, swiping down to reveal the spotlight search would be very difficult without a small amount of free space somewhere.

Even with that free space, I moved any stacked widgets away from the bottom row because I kept cycling through the widgets.
