Hi,
I tried forcing a display mode that my monitor does not support, and it didn't restored after 20 seconds so my monitor stays out of sync.
I connected a second monitor to my MP and both turned on as it should with default settings. When I take off the second monitor the first one goes back to the no-sync mode.
I searched on both system and user library preference folders for a display settings file to delete, but couldn't find anything relevant. How can I revert back to default settings for my monitor?
Thanks!

I believe it's /Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver.displays.plist. Delete that file and it should regenerate a new one.

there was no window server.display.pist on system lib, only windowserver.plist that I erased and didn't have an effect, but I deleted something I can't recall inside user library/preferences/byhost that did the trick.
Thanks for help
