So my wife managed to put all the files/folders from Finder into the Trash...Doing a "put back" one at a time is time consuming considering the amount of files in the trash and if the files aren't from the original location, you can't select several items...

Is there a way to retrieve or "put back" all the files at once?

I've looked around and doesn't look like there's much hope for this but thought I'd ask here in hopes of hail mary...

Thanks in advance...

Pretty sure you can just select them all or as many as you like and then chose to put back.

Usually you can just undo the action from the Edit -> Undo menu item. But I guess it's too late now for that.
