So I got Air4 and run into an unexpected issue. I use iPad horizontally sitting or laying back with my hands in the sides. I was easily able to navigate by taping the home button with my thumb to go home, or double tapping for app switcher.

Now I have to take my hand off and go to the home bar to flick it each time, even worse its confused with the flicks. I get the switcher, or I get the dock, maybe I am lucky I get to home, or the app will scroll the screen if like I am on a browser. Yes I tried the. varying speeds. The five finger pinch isnt any nicer. App switcher is no issue because as long as you pull all the way to mid screen it will come up.

I tried to find if there is a back tap option but doesnt exist. Can I change some of the gestures like swiped down left topcorner to home instead of control center? Can I register like a new gestures like circle with my thumb to go home?

Enable Assistive Touch and set it up to be home button only. You will get a virtual button that can be placed anywhere on your screen.

How practical would that even be on an iPad?

just like on the iPhone, thumb on screen, and index finger on the back. As I mentioned I use my iPad horizontally in my hand, not on a desk with keyboard and mouse.
