How to run Microsoft Windows XP-Parallels Desktop

I just downloaded the free trial of Parallels for the mac and can't seem to make it work. I clicked on the icon and and it says please wait while the virtual machine is resuming. Then it comes up with this black box that says:

Boot from hard drive... failed.
Boot from CD/DVD-ROM drive... failed.
Boot from floppy drove...
Non-System disk or disk error
Replace and press any key when ready

So I keep pressing keys and it keeps saying the same thing over and over again in this black box.

Does anyone know what's wrong? Help please! Thank you!

What you're seeing is a virtual PC trying to boot with no OS on the virtual hard drive.

You need to buy an XP install disk and install it on the virtual machine.

I get this same error but I have XP professional in the dvd drive...any ideas..?
