We are happy to announce Grate Grocery Prices & Reviews app for iOS.
Grate is an app for providing real-time grocery price comparison, aggregated reviews from multiple sources as well as provides information of the ingredients on their impact on health.
The goal of Grate is to simplify price comparison when shopping in-store as it comes with built-in product barcode reader as well as ML powered label recognition. This makes comparing prices, viewing reviews about products in shops a matter of seconds. Currently it works in U.S. and in Hungary, and supports most of the major supermarket chains (e.g. Walmart, Target, Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods Market and many others).
The primary goal of Grate is to reduce the the spending and maximize saving of households through price comparisons.
Supermarket chains often attract their customers with sales, weekly offers and Grate can validate for e.g. if the “sale” price of the product is actually a good deal - or just seems so. Potential savings per products vary from 10%-40% between supermarket chains.
In addition, Grate aims to provide immediate insights and guidance if the product worth its price based on the reviews. By showing aggregated reviews from multiple sources, it can blend negative reviews targeting specific store with the actual reviews about the product itself.
Please note that we are not using affiliate links to make comparison even more objective.
Feel free to share your thoughts, especially in which countries you would like have it extended or what stores do you miss from our comparison list so that we can prioritize accordingly.
