When On a Mac and creating an another invoice for the same customer but for a different amount and invoice number I would simply edit the previous invoice and then click save as and give it a new file name. I can do this on the iPad but then it also saves the new changes in original invoice. I think this is due to the auto save feature.. any idea how to over come it?

i keep forgetting about this and then lose the original info and have to create it again.

Duplicate the original file first, when you're in the Pages document browser view, hold down on your template (or a previous file) and "duplicate" and then you'll be given a file called "My File (Copy)" or similar. Then hold down on that new file and rename it to reflect your new invoice number etc. Then tap into it and make your edits.

^this.

And since most likely saving to iCloud, can make a copy before you start via/in Files app.

Can also do the duplication via a Shortcut, but think that would be a bit overkill.

If want to go Shortcut route, can whip up something like this. Can select an existing spreadsheet in Numbers and use the Share Sheet to do the copy and open

Thanks Guys, Duplicate method worked. Just need to remember to keep doing it that way! Old habits die hard as they say
